The raw fibre is hand-gathered by local villagers from sustainably managed forests. Natural and azo-free synthetic dyes are used to colour the paper with silk-screen methods. Lokta-based craft products offer rural Nepalese women a much-valued source of income to provide for the needs of their families and communities.
